We haven't stopped dining at local Chinese eateries, but we have been spending more time at Applebee's, ever since their menu went all Oriental. There's the Sizzling Asian Shrimp, a pile of sizzling, blackened shrimp served on a skillet full of rice, broccoli, red peppers, sugar snap peas, water chestnuts, mushrooms, carrots, and bok choy, then drizzled with a sweet and spicy sauce and topped with crispy wonton strips and cilantro. Yum! And the Oriental Chicken Salad, a huge helping of fresh Asian greens tossed in a tasty vinaigrette and topped with crispy noodles, toasted almonds and crispy, golden fried chicken tenders. For fans of more American fare, there's always Applebee's splendid Bourbon Street Steak, a juicy, tender steak jazzed up with Cajun spices and served with sautéed onions, mushrooms, and fried red potatoes. This family-owned and operated restaurant serves traditional Greek and Italian favorites, made to order and from super-fresh ingredients. Pastas, chicken, beef, and seafood entrees make up the Italian half of the menu, but be sure to also check out the gyros and Greek salads flavored with house-made dressing, and chase them with Greek wines and draft beers from the bar. The hummus appetizer is enough for four , and the moussaka and spanakopita are as authentic and tasty as they come.

Anyone can make a BLT, right? You'd think so, untill you order one from this Sun City hotspot. Maybe it's the honey-cured bacon or the toasted, house made sourdough; who knows? all we know is we keep going back for more - and sometimes we order our BLT as part of the half-sandwich, soup-of-the-day and pie special (cream of broccoli uis great, if they have it; a slice of pumpkin pie is perfect, in season). Sometimes, if it's later in the day, we order an eight-ounce New York Steak, chargrilled with Montreal seasonings and topped with sauteed mushrooms and an onion ring. We've been known to head to JB's on Fridays for the fabulous fish platter, too. Either way, we enjoy our bottomless cup of coffee and our super-cheap, always tasty meals at the chain favorite.

Everyone and their mother goes here for the delicious and many-flavored hot wings, and we admit we've had them, and they're amazing. But we really dig the Spinach Artichoke Dip, delivered piping hot and topped with bubbly cheddar cheese and served with crisp tri-colored tortilla chips. We like to eat it with the Loaded Steak Fries, a huge portion of crisp, cooked-to-perfection pile jammed with shredded cheddar cheese, bacon, sour cream and scallions. Yes, we usually order the wings—they're delicious, remember? But to go with those, we also ask for the Hand Breaded Butterfly Shrimp, which comes with a side of Ranch or Bleu Cheese dressing. Don't forget to order a pizza; they're hand-tossed and loaded with lots of fresh ingredients. We get ours as an appetizer and share it with the table, so that we can move straight on to that artichoke dip…

All we had to hear were the words “Raspberry Lace Buttermilk Pie,” and we were out the door and on our way to our favorite bakery, which also happens to serve some of the very best breakfast and lunch food in town, bar none. In the morning, we like the Taylor Ham and Egg Sandwich, which combines scrambled eggs, ham and Swiss cheese on a buttered Ciabatta. When we're feeling especially angry at our diet, we go straight for the Cinnamon Raisin Nut French Toast, which brings together whole wheat cinnamon raisin and nut bread and eggs with sweet, creamy butter and hot maple syrup like we've never known. If it's lunch we're after, we look no further than Wildflower's sandwiches, because they're served on fresh-baked Wildflower bread—the best in the land. Our favorite is the Roasted Sweet Potato Sandwich, made with roasted sweet potato, fresh mozzarella, fig confit, tomato, arugula, marinated fennel and balsamic vinaigrette on herb focaccia bread. No, we're not kidding. This sandwich actually exists, and it will change your life.
